SutureTOOL™ Global Launch Summit – a key milestone in our international expansion

From May 5–7, Suturion hosted the SutureTOOL™ Global Launch Summit in Malmö, Sweden – marking a major step in the global roll-out of our innovative fascia closure device.

Business partners from 11 countries, gathered to prepare for launching SutureTOOL™ in their respective markets. With initial commercial focus on the United States and the Middle East, other markets are now entering their pre-market phase.

The two-day event featured hands-on training, knowledge exchange, and inspiring presentations. We were proud to welcome our esteemed medical advisors Professor John Fischer (Penn Medicine) and Professor Lars Nannestad (Bispebjerg Hospital), who both contributed invaluable insights and highly appreciated talks.

As Prof. John Fischer remarked:

“SutureTOOL offers the opportunity for surgeons to very precisely close the fascia in a reliable way – and this may lead to reduced incidence of incisional hernia.”

The clinical perspective was shared by Dr. Jenny Engdahl and OR nurse Camilla Feurst from Helsingborg Hospital, Sweden, providing real-world experience of using SutureTOOL™ in abdominal surgery since they both took part in the clinical study.  

The summit marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our journey — filled with collaboration, confidence, and strong momentum toward safer, more efficient abdominal wall closure.
