SutureTOOLTM IS FDA-CLEARED AND AVAILABLE ONLY WITHIN THE UNITED STATES
SutureTOOL is a groundbreaking device designed to transform abdominal wall closure. By combining innovation with precision, SutureTOOL tackles the challenge of suturing fascia.
The device streamlines the closure process, ensuring consistency, efficiency and safety. Additionally, SutureTOOL enables surgeons to easily adopt the recommended small-bites technique, aligning with surgical guidelines for best practices.
The SutureTOOL system is designed as a two-part solution: the SutureTOOL device and a specialized suture featuring a double-pointed needle with the thread attached at its center.
SutureTOOL functions as a handheld manual sewing machine with a straight needle that is mechanically passed between two arms. When the arms are compressed, the needle passes through the tissue and is automatically captured by the opposite arm. The semi-automated needle transfer enables fast, easy and precise suturing.
The integrated “small-bites guide” on the upper arm of the SutureTOOL demonstrates the exact measurements of small-bites. The guide helps the surgeon to measure the distance between each stitch and place the suture to obtain small-bites with a SL/WL ≥4. This technique is recommended by the joint guidelines from European/American Hernia Society and World Society of Emergency Surgery1,2

SutureTOOL allows surgeons to suture faster than traditional manual suturing, delivering substantial time savings.
SutureTOOL helps optimize operating time, freeing up valuable healthcare resources to treat more patients and reducing overall costs.

SutureTOOL enables suturing without fingers having to be close to the sharp needle. The built-in needle protection system prevents the needle from causing harm or injury, makes SutureTOOL safe for both patients and surgeons.
With its intuitive application and short learning curve, SutureTOOL is easy-to-use and handle: Pre-clinical research showed that the learning curve stabilized after three closures1.

SutureTOOL was developed to solve a critical issue in surgery: the high rate of complications caused by improper fascia closure after open abdominal procedures. While staplers have improved skin closure efficiency, fascia suturing has remained reliant on traditional, manual techniques. This unmet need led to the creation of an innovative device that ensures standardized, efficient, and safe closures, improving patient outcomes and reducing surgical risks.
